Iohannes Dei gratia rex Angl(ie) dominus Hibernie dux Norm(annie) Aquitann(ie) comes Andeg(auie) omnibus comitibus, baronibus, iusticiis, vicecomitibus et omnibus balliuis et fidelibus suis salutem. Noueritis nos suscepisse in manum et protectionem nostram moniales de Godestowe et domum suam, et ideo vobis precipimus quod ipsos, homines, terras, res et possessiones earum manuteneatis, custodiatis et protegatis tamquam res nostras dominicas, non inferentes eis vel ab aliquo inferri permittentes iniuriam, molestiam aut grauamen. Et si quis eis in aliquo forisfecerit, id eis sint dilatione emendari faciatis. Teste H(uberto) Cant' archiepiscopo cancellario nostro apud Medestan' xiii. die Iunii.
