Iohannes Dei gratia rex Angl(ie) dominus Hybern(ie) dux Norm(annie) et Aquit(anie) et com(es) And(egauie) archiepiscopis, episcopis, abbatibus, comit(ibus), baron(ibus), iustic(iis), vic(ecomitibus) et omnibus balliuis et fidelibus suis salutem. Noueritis nos pro salute anime nostre et animarum antecessorum et successorum nostrorum reddidisse et presenti carta confirmasse Deo et ecclesie Cristi Cantuar' et venerabili patri nostro in Cristo Huberto eiusdem sedis archiepiscopo et successoribus suis seruicium totius feodi Will(el)mi de Ros unde contentio erat inter nos et antecessores nostros et ipsum archiepiscopum et predecessores suos. Quare volumus et firmiter precipimus quod idem archiepiscopus et successores sui h(abe)ant et in perpetuum teneant totum seruicium cum feodo predicto bene et in pace, libere et quiete, integre et plenarie cum omnibus pertinentiis suis et libertatibus et liberis consuetudinibus suis. Testibus: Iohanne Norwic' episcopo, Will(el)mo de Rupibus senescall(o) Andeg(auie), Petr(o) de Pratell', Will(el)m(o) Briw', Hubert(o) de Burg' camerar(io) nostro, Garino de Glapion', Petro de Stok'. Notification that for the health of his souls and the souls of his ancestors and successors the king has restored and in his this his present charter confirmed to God and Christ Church Canterbury and Hubert archbishop of Canterbury and his successors the service of the whole fee of William de Ros, concerning which there was a dispute between the king and his ancestors (on the one part) and the archbishop and his predecessors (on the other).
