Iohannes rex et cetera.  Sciatis nos venerabilem patrem in Cristo dominum W(illelmum) Lond’ et omnes homines suos, res, terras, possessiones et tenementa sua in custodiam et protectionem nostram suscepisse.  Quare volumus et firmiter precipimus quod ipsum episcopum et omnes homines suos, res, terras, possessiones et tenementa sua manuteneatis, protegatis et custodiatis et non permittas quod aliquis ei vel rebus suis iniuriam, grauamen aut molestiam in aliquo inferat et si ei in aliquo forisfactum fuerit, id ei sine dilatione faciatis emendari, et prohibemus ne ipse ponatur in placitum de aliquo quod teneat de nobis in capite nisi coram nobis vel capitali iusticiario nostro.  Teste me ipso apud Turrim Lond’ xxx. die Ianuarii.
