Iohannes Dei gratia rex Anglie dominus Hibernie dux Normannie et Aquitanie comes Andegauensis archiepiscopis, episcopis, abbatibus, comitibus, baronibus, iusticiis, vicecomitibus, prepositis et omnibus balliuis suis et fidelibus suis salutem.  Sciatis nos concessisse et presenti carta confirmasse dilectis et fidelibus nostris burgensibus de Rupella quod habeant communiam cum omnibus libertatibus et liberis consuetudinibus ad communiam pertinentibus.  Concessimus etiam eis et confirmamus quod ipsi habeant omnes libertates et liberas consuetudines quas habuerunt et habere consueuerunt tempore bone memorie Henrici patris nostri vel aliorum antecessorum nostrorum.  Dat’ per manum H. Cantuarien’ archiepiscopi cancellarii nostri apud Phales octauo die Iul(ii) anno regni nostri primo.
