Iohannes Dei gratia rex Anglie dominus Hibernie dux Normannie Aquitannie et comes Andegauie omnibus Cristi fidelibus ad quos presens carta peruenerit salutem. Noueritis nos ad petitionem dilecti clerici nostri Rann(ulfi) thesaur(arii) Saresb' persone ecclesie de Wigan dedisse et concessisse Ade clerico de Frekelton' perpetuam vicariam ecclesie de Wigan que de donacione nostra est, ita quod idem Adam ecclesiam illam cum omnibus pertinentiis suis habeat et teneat omnibus diebus vite sue salua ipsi Rann(ulfo) et successoribus suis pensione unius marce annue in festo sancti Mich(ael)is percipiende, et ut hoc nulli imposterum veniat in dubium, predictam vicariam predicto Ade presenti scripto et sigilli nostri appositione confirmamus. Hiis testibus: Will(elm)o London' episcopo, Gaufr(ido) filio Petri comite Essex', Will(elm)o Marescall' comite de Penbroc, Will(elm)o Briwer, Hugone Bard'. Notification that at the request of Ranulph treasurer of Salisbury, king’s clerk and parson of the church of Wigan, the king has granted to Adam of Freckleton, clerk, the perpetual vicarage of the church of Wigan, to hold for his lifetime, saving a pension of 1 mark to be paid annually to Ranulph at Michaelmas.
