Iohannes Dei gratia rex Angl(ie) dominus Hybernie dux Norm(annie) Aquit(anie) comes Andeg(auie) venerabili in Cristo patri I(ohanni) Norwic’ episcopo et Gaufr(ido) fil(io) Petri com(iti) Essex’ salutem.  Sciatis quod ex inquisitione quam nobis misistis quam fecistis fieri per preceptum nostrum de ecclesia de Oreford’ bene perpendimus ecclesiam illam esse capellam pertinentem ad matricem ecclesiam de Suburn’ que est de donatione episcopi Elyen’, et ideo ius patronatus illius reddidimus eidem episcopo et ecclesie Elyen’ tamquam ius suum.  T(este) me ipso apud Cadom’ xxvii. die Febr(uarii).
