Notification that the the king has granted and by this his present charter confirmed to Henry fitz Hervey that he may hold his forest in Teesdale with all its liberties and free customs as it was held by his ancestors in the time of King Henry I, the grandfather of the king’s father, as set out in a charter of Henry II.
